Company awarded $154M contract to construct new roadways and bridges at Pittsburgh International Airport

Pittsburgh, PA – January 24, 2022: Fay, S&B USA Construction (Fay) will be the general contractor for new roads and bridges to be constructed at Pittsburgh International Airport as part of the Terminal Modernization Program.

This $154M contract includes construction of new roadways, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, drainage, utilities, traffic control and earthwork associated with a new 700,000 square foot terminal and multi- modal transportation complex scheduled to open in 2025.

Work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022, and construction will last for approximately 36 months.

Although we are part of a large global company, Fay has been an integral part of developing the infrastructure in the Pittsburgh area over the last 75 years,” stated Ryan Surrena, Vice President of Operations. “It is exciting to have the opportunity to develop and modernize the airport that we all use for travel and to showcase our work to the community.” Fay has been involved in such recent Pittsburgh critical infrastructure projects as the construction of the new Shell Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Complex and Frankie Pace Park.

Fay’s project is part of the larger $1.4 billion Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) at Pittsburgh International Airport, which will create more efficient, tech-forward, sustainable airport facilities and advance the future of travel in western Pennsylvania and beyond.
